Cowboys In Alamosa For Non-Conference Series

Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowboys are back on the road this weekend playing non-conference games Adams State on Friday and Saturday..  

New Mexico Highlands enters the series at 5-6 overall after taking two of three from University of the Southwest on February 15th and 16th.

COACH JONES FILE:  New Mexico Highlands University has named Steve Jones its head baseball coach, marking a return to the program for Coach Jones. He led the Highlands baseball squad for 17 years and was inducted into the H-Club Hall of Honor in 2019.

Jones's NMHU teams qualified for the RMAC conference tournament 15 times and qualified for NCAA Division 2 Regionals six times, hosting the NCAA Central Regional in 2010. Jones's NMHU teams won two RMAC conference championships and three RMAC conference tournament championships. His teams reached the finals of the RMAC conference tournament championship game six times.

RMAC POLL: The Cowboys were tabbed for an eighth place finish in the 2026 RMAC Preseason Baseball Poll.  The Cowboys received 14 votes in the voting by the league's nine head coaches.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION:  Adams State is 2-13 overall after dropping two of three at Regis last weekend.  The Grizzlies swept the season series from the Cowboys last year winning all four games.  The two teams will meet in historic Las Vegas for a four game RMAC series April 17th - 19th.
