Cowgirls Turn In Nation’s No. 2 4x100 Time at Jo Meeker Classic

Canyon, Texas - The Cowgirls returned to the track this weekend at the Jo Meeker Classic & Multi at West Texas A&M, continuing to post impressive marks as they prepare for the RMAC Championships later this month.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Amoya Jameison, Ashley Barrett, Kayci-Jo Davis, and Patreece Clarke turned in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 44.63, the second-fastest mark in the nation this season.

Barrett and Clarke each added provisional marks in the 100 meters, clocking times of 11.23 and 11.52, respectively.

Freshman Lucia Burba recorded 4,584 points in the heptathlon, the fifth-best total in the RMAC this season.

The Cowgirls currently hold the top marks in the RMAC in the 100 meters (Barrett), 200 meters (Barrett), 400 meters (Amoya Jameison), 100-meter hurdles (Clarke), and the 4x100-meter relay.

New Mexico Highlands will send a group to Portales for the Greyhound Open next Saturday, the final meet before the RMAC Championships.
