Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowboys open a big four game series in historic Las Vegas on Friday at 3:00 against Regis.
New Mexico Highlands swept last week's series from visiting Adams State behind solid starting pitching as
Andrew Baltazar,
Ramon Brion, and
Anthony Reyes each pitched complete game victories. Â
BALTAZAR RMAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK:Â Baltazar, the Cowboys' Game 1 starter, started NMHU's weekend sweep of Adams State with a seven-inning, run-rule-shortened shutout. He scattered three hits and a walk while striking out three of the 26 batters he faced. Baltazar did not allow a runner past second base in his outing, retired the side in order four times, and retired nine of the final 10 batters he faced.
RMAC UPDATE: The Top six teams qualify for the RMAC Baseball Championship post season tournament. Â

COACH JONES FILE: New Mexico Highlands University has named
Steve Jones head baseball coach, marking a return to the program. Jones led the Cowboys for 17 seasons and was inducted into the H-Club Hall of Honor in 2019.
During his previous tenure, Jones guided New Mexico Highlands to 15 RMAC Tournament appearances and six NCAA Division II Regional berths, including hosting the NCAA Central Regional in 2010. His teams captured two RMAC regular-season titles and three RMAC Tournament championships, while advancing to the tournament title game six times.
RMAC POLL: The Cowboys were picked to finish eighth in the 2026 RMAC Preseason Baseball Poll, earning 14 votes from the league's nine head coaches.Â
Regis was tabbed for a fifth place finish in the voting by the conference coaches.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: Regis enters this weekend's series with a 14-27-1 overall record and a 5-18-1 mark in RMAC play after losing four at Colorado Mesa last weekend.
As a team, the Rangers are hitting .339 while posting an 10.28 ERA on the mound. Pat Jolly is in his third season as head coach of the program.
