Four Cowboys Recognized by NCWA

Manheim. Pennsylvania – The National Wrestling Coaches Association released the 2025-26 NCAA D2 Individual Scholar All-American list on Thursday. This list included four NMHU Cowboys.

 

A total of 433 student-athletes, representing 64 of the 71 Division II institutions, were honored for their success in the classroom while competing throughout the season.

The criteria are: All-American at the 2026 NCAA DII National Championships and 3.00 GPA; National Qualifier to the 2026 NCAA DII National Championships and 3.25 GPA;

or Competed in 4 or more events and 3.5 GPA.

The four Cowboys selected were Sebastian Freeman at the 149 weight, while studying Health Science;

Ivan Smith, who earlier won RMAC academic wrestler of the year, at the 165 weight while studying social work;

and Reed McCarty at the 157 weight while studying Health Science.

The last Cowboy is Phil Chobot at 285, while studying Business Admin.
