Las Vegas, New Mexico – The Cowgirls kick off their first home conference match Thursday against the Roadrunners of MSU-Denver.
Game Location: This week's game has been moved to MSU-Denver due to weather in Historic Las Vegas.
Year Three: This is the third season for
Amanda Evans as the head coach of the Cowgirls soccer program.

RMAC Poll: The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released the 2026 Soccer preseason poll New Mexico Highlands University garnered 13 points in voting conducted by the conference's 13 coaches to finish behind Black Hills State in the poll.

The Cowgirls wrapped the opening weekend of conference in Denver facing off with the Rangers of Regis.

The first half of the match Cowgirls were outshot by the Rangers in the first half 18-8.
Peyton Greener was able to have five saves in the first half.

However, the Rangers scored four goals in the first half. Including an own goal on an attempt to cross that deflected off a Cowgirl defender and went in to give them a 4-0 lead at the end of the first half. The Rangers continued to pile it on with a seventh goal of the day.

Tammia Thorpe scored her first goal in a Cowgirls uniform in the 67 minute of the game to give the Cowgirls their first goal of the game.

The Rangers, however, had too large of a lead for the Cowgirls to come back from and would drop their final match of the opening weekend of conference play.

MSU-Denver:
The Roadrunners enter the week at 1-3-4 on the season and 0-1-1 in conference play. The head coach of the Roadrunners program is Katie Hooker who is in her second season as head coach in her first season 2-9-7 overall and 2-6-4 in conference. Hookers record against the Cowgirls is 1-0 going into Thursday.
