The Cowgirls Basketball team travelled to southern New Mexico to take on the Aggies of New Mexico State University on 12/30. The Cowgirls were unable to come back with a victory but played well against the NCAA DI Aggies in Las Cruces. The final score was 80-39, with the Aggies coming out on top.
At halftime the score was 34-24 with the Aggies leading but the Cowgirls were close on their heels. This was the biggest lead the Aggies would have in the first half as the Cowgirls kept the Aggies offense on their toes.
The Aggies were able to keep the Cowgirls' shooting to a minimum as the leading scorer was
Ashley Logan with seven points on the night. Logan also led the Cowgirls with 10 total rebounds.
The next top scorer for the Cowgirls was
Sheena Cole with six points. Four Cowgirls then followed scoring five points each.
The Cowgirls are now 6-4 overall and will take a short break on their schedule before they travel to Lakewood, Colo. to take on the Colorado Christian University Cougars on 1/8 at 6:00pm.
