The Cowgirl Softball team battled the elements this weekend as they travelled to Alamosa, CO to take on the Adams State Grizzlies. The Cowgirls were set to play a four game series against the Grizzlies but due to weather conditions on 4/2 the games were called. The Cowgirls continued the first game that had already started along with the regular scheduled doubleheader on 4/3, playing only three games in the series. 
The Grizzlies took the earlier lead when they scored a run in the second inning. The Cowgirls had a big fifth inning as they took the lead from the Grizzlies making the score 3-1. The Cowgirls were earning one base at a time by singles until Ashley Bryan got up to bat. Bryan hit a double to right center bringing in two RBIs. Unfortunately for the Cowgirls the Grizzlies answered back with three runs of their own in the same inning. Unable to score again, the Cowgirls lost the first game 4-3. 
Ashley Paiz earned the loss for the Cowgirls on the mound as she pitched then entire six innings with four strikeouts. 
 
Game two saw 
Tanya Groff on the mound for the Cowgirls. The Grizzlies took the early lead and did not look back. It took the Cowgirls four innings to score but by then it would prove to be too late as the Grizzlies led 5-1. The Grizzlies continues their scoring but the Cowgirls couldn't manage to keep theirs going. The Grizzlies again won 7-1. Groff earned the loss on the mound but matched Paz with four strikeouts. 
The final game for the Cowgirls would prove to be the best. The Cowgirls jump started their scoring as they scored three runs in the first inning as the entire lineup saw time at the plate. The Cowgirls again scored three more runs in the third inning as they capitalized on errors made by the Grizzlies. The two strong innings for the Cowgirls would be all they needed for the victory. The Cowgirls won 6-1 with 
Melissa Martinez on the mound. Martinez recorded 11 strikeouts on the mound increasing her record to 6-3. 
The Cowgirls will now return home for an RMAC series against Mesa State College 4/10-11. The Cowgirls are 11-17 overall and 7-11 in RMAC play.
