The NMHU Cowgirls made it two in a row in Colorado as they beat RMAC opponent UC-Colorado Springs 77-68. The Cowgirls took the lead from the outset and never let up leading by as much as 15 points in a game that saw another double-double performance by a Cowgirl for the second night in a row. With their victory over the Mountain Lions the Cowgirls, lead by Head Coach Tiffany Darling, improve their record to 6-9 in the RMAC and 10-12 in overall play.

Briana Gholston was the leading scorer tonight with 23 points for the Cowgirls. She shot 5-10 from the field and made 13 of her 18 attempts from the free throw line. Gholston would add six rebounds, four assists and four steals in her 31 minutes of playing time. Cowgirl Whitley Coca earned her fourth double-double of the year scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 boards. Coca played 34 minutes in the game and had two assists and a block to add to her tally. China Smith rounded out the Cowgirl's top performers with 15 points, eight rebounds and two steals on the night despite playing through the second half in foul trouble.

The Cowgirls quickly scored eight unanswered points after the tip off. UCCS clawed back to within three points after seven minutes of play but the Cowgirls answered the surge and responded to amass a 15 point lead with 8:13 left in the first half. The Mountain Lions would close the gap to six points but the Cowgirls again answered to enter the locker room with a 10 point lead.

After the break UCCS came out looking to cut the Cowgirls lead. The Mountain Lions had NMHU on the defensive for the first few minutes of the second half and closed to within one point with 14:54 remaining in the game. The Cowgirls fought back after a layup by Ashley Godfrey and the Mountain Lions would come no closer in the game. NMHU continued their assault to lead by 13 points with only 2:53 to play. Again the Mountain Lions tried to storm back reducing the gap to six points with 43 seconds to go but Cowgirl Whitley Coca sank three of her last four shots from the charity stripe to seal the victory. With the win Coach Darling's Cowgirls are now on a four game win streak and vault two positions in the conference standings.
