The Cowgirls now find themselves in ninth place in the RMAC standings.

Regis began the game on the attack. Rangers' forward Meghan Stuart had two shots within the first two minutes of the game. She shot wide right and wide left, providing a glimpse of the dangers to come. The Cowgirls regained their composure and forward Marci Johnson put a shot on goal in the 7th minute that was saved. Cowgirls' striker Julissa Rodriguez followed up the attack in the 10th minute with another shot on goal that was again saved. The Rangers found the net first in the 21st minute when Meghan Stuart crossed a ball into the box and found forward CC Rinehart who banged it in to the right side of the goal. It was Rinehart's first goal of the season. The Rangers kept up the pressure for the rest of the first half and found their second goal in the 39th minute. Rangers' midfielder Erin Kettmann took the corner kick that was punched away by Cowgirl keeper Amanda Rose Johnson. The rebound fell to Rangers' midfielder Kendal Kagawa who scored from inside the box. The Rangers would take the 2-0 lead into the half.

The Cowgirls went on the attack from the beginning of the second period when the Rangers' keeper had to make a save on a shot from Cowgirl midfielder Autumn Woods in the 45th minute. The Cowgirls found their first goal in the 46th minute when forward Julissa Rodriguez received a pass from forward Janelle McGee outside the box and blasted a shot from the middle of the pitch that scored, making the score 2-1 Regis. The Rangers continued attacking the Cowgirls' defense, but the Cowgirls fought back and Julissa Rodriguez almost scored again when she hit the post in the 63rd minute. Regis scored again when forward Jordan Miller slipped a pass to Meghan Stuart and Stuart put it in the back of the net in the 85th minute, making the score 3-1 Regis. The Cowgirls struck back quickly as forward Marci Johnson took a long shot from the middle of the pitch and scored in the 86th minute, closing the gap once again. Unfortunately for the Cowgirls time was running out and the Rangers were able to finish out the game, winning by a final score of 3-2.

The Rangers' attack was just too much for the Cowgirls in the game. They placed 11 shots on goal from a total of 28 shots taken. The Cowgirls' attack took their chances well in this game with eight shots on goal from 11 shots taken, finding the net twice. The Cowgirls were so close in the game, hitting the post twice. Striker Julissa Rodriguez led the Cowgirls' attack with three shots on goal from four attempts and one goal. Striker Marci Johnson saw both of her shots hit the target and scored once. Striker Janelle McGee had the Cowgirls only assist in the game. Both Rodriguez and Johnson scored their third goal of the season in the game.  The Rangers drew two yellow cards in the game, one in each half. This is proving to be a highly contested and physical RMAC women's soccer season.

The Cowgirls will be in action again on Friday, 9/30, as they host Fort Lewis College at Perkins Stadium in Las Vegas, NM. The Skyhawks come into the game as the third ranked team in NCAA DII women's soccer and are in first place in the RMAC with an undefeated 5-0 record. The Skyhawks have not lost this season with their only points drop coming from a non-conference tie, giving them an overall record of 8-0-1.
