Season Finale

Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowgirls' soccer team will wrap up the season with a trip on Wednesday to face the Grizzlies of Adams State.

LAST TIME OUT:
The Cowgirls dropped the final two home games of the 2025 season against the Orediggers of Colorado School of Mines. Followed by a heartbreaking loss to CSU-Pueblo. In the match against the Thunderwolves, the Cowgirls scored twice, once on a goal by Senior Kate Rayner for her 8th goal of her career, and another goal by Vivi Munoz, the first of her Cowgirls career.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS:
The Grizzlies enter the match at 7-7-3 after splitting last weekend, with a win over CSU-Pueblo and a loss to Colorado School of Mines. The Grizzlies look to cap off their season with a win over the Cowgirls. Alex Greco is in his fourth season as the head coach of the soccer program at Adams State. Before becoming the head coach in Alamosa, he was at Iowa State for two seasons as the Assistant Coach for Performance Analysis.

Coach Evans:
Wednesday will close the chapter on Amanda Evans' second year as the head coach in Las Vegas. The team dealt with the injury bug for most of the season, while a young squad featured 15 freshmen getting their first taste of the RMAC.

When asked about the injury bug and the young squad, Coach Evans said, "We're really proud of the players for pushing through this season, given the fact that they have had so many injuries. Despite our best efforts to stay healthy, when they've needed to come together and support each other, they have. We knew coming into this season that we were going to be young and that often times brings some Growing challenges, but we are also very confident in what our team has been able to show this season, the great improvement that they've had, and the higher level of skill that we've been able to bring into the conference. We're excited to be able to work with these players this spring to get them stronger physically and mentally for next fall, where we plan to set a new trend."

"As far as the game tomorrow, that's the great thing about it. We know it's our last game of the season and that we get to rest the next day. So we have nothing to lose. We have three seniors who get to step on the field one more time with this group, and we've been blessed by their commitment to the program. Now we get to go out hard, and together, as cowgirls," Said Coach Evans about her message to her team this week.
