Box Score Colorado Springs, Colo - The NMHU Women's Soccer Team clinched a spot in the RMAC Tournament by securing a win against the Mountain Lions of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, by the final score of 2-0. It was the Cowgirls' seventh victory in the conference. Out of the gates, the Mountain Lions offensively took fours shots in the first eleven minutes of play. The Cowgirls responded by converting a goal on their first scoring opportunity. Their goal came in the 20th minute from
Anyssa Dagnino and it was her sixth goal of the season. The Cowgirls' second goal would come seven minutes later by
Anyssa Dagnino.
Crystal Schuder was given an assist when she made an shot attempt and it was rebounded to
Anyssa Dagnino who finished in the net. It was her second goal of the game and it's her seventh goal in the span of just three matches. The Cowgirls, led by Head Coach
Justin Wagar, improve to 7-5-1 in the RMAC and 9-5-3 in overall play.

In the first period the Mountain Lions were controlling the pace and ball movement to start the game. The Cowgirls would answer by scoring on their first shot attempt from
Anyssa Dagnino. Her goal came in the 20th minute, she beat the goalkeeper lower left, on a breakaway from a defensive turnover.
Anyssa Dagnino would strike again in the 28th minute, by securing a goal when she finished in the net due to the goalkeeer coming out to challenge. That was her seventh goal of the season. Finishing the period the Cowgirls would edge out the Mountain Lions in the shots by period, 7-6. The Cowgirls' defense was playing well and with a lot of excitment.
The Mountain Lions offensively took charge of the pace and the ball control in the second period. They were determined to tie the game up at two goals. UCCS dominated the Cowgirls in the shots by period 12-3.
The Cowgirls' defense was determined not to let any goals in the net or let the Mountain Lions create multiple scoring opportunities around the net. Goalkeeper
Nikita Rivera played stellar defense for the Cowgirls with four saves in the second period. The Cowgirls' defense played well as a unit, they were tested by the Mountain Lions' offensively, but they didn't back down from the challenge.
Reiging RMAC Offensive Player the Week, Anyssa Dagino would shine again for the Cowgirls. Her two goals were a major contribution along with a very good Cowgirls' defense and stellar performance from the goalkeeer
Nikita Rivera.
Dagnino has been on fire of late, scoring seven goals in their last three matches. The speedy freshman's superior performances over that span have lifted the Cowgirls into sole possesion of fourth place. The standing allows the Cowgirls home field advantage in the first round of the RMAC playoffs.
The Cowgirls will continue conference action on Sunday, Nov. 3, in their final regular season match of 2013 against the Rangers of Regis University. The Cowgirls will travel to Denver, Colo. to take on the RMAC sixth placed Rangers who bring a 5-6-2 conference record and are 7-7-2 in overall play.
