Box Score 2 Pueblo, Colo. – The Colorado State University of Pueblo Thunderwolves hosted the NMHU Cowgirls in a double header on Saturday Apr. 6. It was the first of two double headers on the weekend. The Cowgirls took two losses on Saturday, the first game was 6-3 and the second game was 5-4. With the two losses, the Cowgirls' new record is 15-24-1 in overall play and 7-17-1 in the RMAC.
CSU-Pueblo 6 – NMHU 3
At the beginning of the game each team battled the opposing pitcher for the first score of the game. The Thunderwolves obtained the first lead of the game when they scored a run in the bottom of the second inning (1-0).
The Thunderwolves scored their second run when they advanced runners through a walk (2-0) in the third inning. With bases loaded and no outs, the Cowgirls were up against the wall. With their next batter the Thunderwolves took their opportunity for a grand slam home run and pushed the lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the third inning.
In the Cowgirls' next at bat, they created a rally of their own. Scoring three runs in the top of the fourth inning, the Cowgirls braced for a comeback.
With three hits in the inning, the Cowgirls were able to get two runners on base when 
Dominique Padilla took the batting box. The junior from Albuquerque, N.M. jacked a home run into left field for a three run score.
Erica Wieck, the Cowgirl pitcher, was able to contain the Thunderwolves toward the end of the game by allowing no scores. Unfortunately the Cowgirls were unable to score another run and lost the game.
The final score was 6-3 in favor of the Thunderwolves.
CSU-Pueblo 5 – NMHU 4
In the second game, the Thunderwolves took the lead in the second inning with a one-run home run (1-0).
The Thunderwolves continued the scoring in the third inning.  The Thunderwolves scored two unearned runs through a hit and an error by the Cowgirls. At the bottom of the third inning the score was 3-0.
With a deficit to conquer, the Cowgirls reacted. 
Jessica Brink brought in a run by hitting a single to center field in the fourth inning. The Cowgirls' second run (2-3) was brought in by 
Devon Paiz, she hit a single into right field for one RBI.
The Cowgirls would continue the pursuit to victory in the fifth inning. 
Shelby Watts gained the lead for the Cowgirls when she hit a two-run home run 4-3.
Unable to keep the lead, the Cowgirls would fall behind once again in the bottom of the fifth inning (5-4).
In the final inning and a half the two teams were unable to score any runs.
The Cowgirls did not reclaim the lead, and lost the game. The final score was 5-4 in favor of the Thunderwolves.
