Cowgirls Fall in a Physical Game

Box Score

After winning the season opener, Coach Oscar Mendoza and the Cowgirls fell to 1-2 with a 2-0 lost to the Wolves of Western Oregon.

During a very physical first half, the defense for both teams were showing their strength. It wasn't until the 41st minute that the Wolves got on the board. The Wolves had a direct shot that bounced off the post and Allison Sprecher was there to clean it up., For the first time this season the Cowgirls went into a half down.,

Just 9 minutes into the second half the Wolves were about to score their second goal of the game. The Wolves would keep attacking as just 6 minutes later they had a shot off a direct kick off the crossbar before the Cowgirls were able to clear the ball. From that point on the Cowgirls controlled the second half. Unfortunately the Cowgirls were not able to get on the board and the game ended in a 2-0 loss for the Cowgirls.

The Cowgirls will have 8 days off before they play again when they will travel to Eastern New Mexico. Game time is set for 3 p.m. Live stats will be available.
