Rangers and Cowgirls Clash In Vegas

LAS VEGAS, N.M.- The Cowgirl softball team will host the Regis Rangers in a four game series this weekend at Brandt Field. The first game will be on Saturday at noon with the second game immediately following 20 minutes later. The Rangers and Cowgirls will wrap up the season on Sunday with a double header starting at 11 a.m. with the second game 20 minutes later.
 
The Rangers are lead by Rachel Illias who is hitting .472 with 36 at bats, 17 hits and 8 RBIs. Carlie Sexton leads the Rangers with 10 RBIs and is battings .326 in 46 at bats. In the circle Nicole Aviles leads Regis with 10 appearances and six starts while holding a 2-4 record. Nicole Hall is 4-2 in nine appearances and five starts.
 
Last week the Cowgirls' Michelle Brincefield went 3-0 with a 1.05 ERA in three games and 20 innings pitched. In the final game against UCCS Brincfield pitched a complete game one hitter shutout. Katelyn Bates leads the Cowgirls at the plate with .424 batting average and has started all 11 games. She has 14 hits with two doubles and a homerun.
