Box Score 2 Las Vegas, N.M- The Cowgirls softball team hosted the Rangers of Regis this afternoon in a double header.

Game 1The Cowgirls fell to the Rangers by a score of 4-1

In was in the bottoms of the second when the Cowgirls would be the first to get on the board.
Ashton Borunda lead the Cowgirls off with a single to left field. She would move to second on a steal.
Victoria Gonzales singles to right and pushed Borunda over to third. A
Monica Caporal walk loaded the bases for the Cowgirls.
Marissa Valencia was patient at the plate and force the Rangers to walk her and made the game 1-0.

The Rangers didn't like the taste of being down as they would go to bat in the third. It started with A walk by Hull. Prescott mover her over to third on a stand up double to left center. King kept the hits coming with a single up the middle to score Hull and Prescott. The Rangers wouldn't stop there as Illias doubled to right filed that allowed King to score but Illias would get caught rounding second base when the Cowgirls noticed and were able to tag her on a diving catch by
Jacquelyn Solis. After two and a half the Cowgirls trail 3-1

In the top of the sixth with a runner on second and two outs Finger hit a sharp ball to left center that score McGinn from second and gave the Rangers the 4-1 lead.

In Cowgirls would try to make a comeback in the bottom of the seventh. Solis singled to the shortstop to start the inning. Bates stepped in the box and made solid contact and forced an error by the third baseman to give the Cowgirls runners on first and second. Borunda grounded out to the second baseman but allowed the runners to move. A single by Cavone would drive in Solis to make it a 4-2 game. The Cowgirls would end up falling by a score of 4-2
Game 2The Rangers wasted no time in the start of the second game getting on the board. King started out with a single up the middle then stole second base. After a gound-out Sexton sinhled down the right field line and score king from second. After a half inning the Rangers lead the Cowgirls 1-0.

The Regis bats would still pop in the top of the second. After a walk by McGinn to lead off the inning Finger reached on a Cowgirl error that allowed McGinn to move over to third. Finger would steal second to give the Rangers two runners within 120 feet of home. Gordon would feel a pitch hit her left bicep as the Rangers loaded the bases. King singled up the middle to score McGinn from third and move the other runners over to second and third. That's all the damage the Cowgirls would allow as after one and a half innings the score was 2-0 Rangers.

It was more pressure on the Cowgirls in the top of the third as another lead off walk was given by the Cowgirls. Aviles would hit a double over the left field's head to give the Rangers runners of first and third. A bunt by Cox would load the bases for the Rangers. McGinn would hurt the Cowgirls with a hit to right field that was miss played by the fielder and McGinn would leg it out for a base clearing triple. Coach Gadberry went to the pen and brought it a different pitcher. Finger made solid contact and singled on a bunt that score McGinn from third to make it 6-0. A sac fly from Sexton would make it 7-0. On the very next pitch Sexton would steal second safety on a Cowgirl throw. When the throw was made Gordon made a break for home and got in there safely to make it 8-0. A slap hit over the shortstop by Illias moved runners over to first and second. Aviles followed suit with a shot off the shortstop's glove to give them runners on first and second. Cox hit a rope off the middle of the wall that score both runners and made it an 11-0 game after just two and a half innings.

The Rangers would add another run to the board in the top of the fourth. After a double by Finger, Gordon doubled to right center and scored Finger to make it 12-0.

The would be the final score as the Rangers took two from the Cowgirls. The Cowgirls will look to even the series tomorrow in a double header that starts at 11 a.m. A friendly reminder tickets are $5 are no outside food or drink is allowed. Pets are also not allowed in the facility.Â
