Cowgirls Softball Picks Up Two Wins

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LAS VEGAS, N.V.- The Cowgirls won both games today as they beat Northwest Nazarene 6-5 and Stanislaus State 11-3.
 
In the first game, the girls would start slow as they would be down 4-0 after the top of the third inning. Solis and Bates would start the bottom of the inning with back to back hits. Cabrera and Cavone would combine to score two runs in the inning.
 
Michelle Brincefield would hold them down for two innings, as the Cowgirls would get another rally in the bottom of the fifth.
 
Bates would lead the girls off with a double and after two outs, Cavone would drive her second run of the game to keep the inning alive. After a couple errors, the Cowgirls would score another run to tie the game at 4-4.
 
In the top of the sixth, Nazarene would get one run to regain the lead at 5-4.
 
In the bottom of the sixth, the Cowgirls would take advantage of another double by Bates, and multiple errors of Nazarene to score two runs.
 
Up 6-5, Brincefield would shut them down to win the game and get her first win of the season.
 
In the second game against Stanislaus State, the Cowgirls came out swinging as Solis and Kamai both hit two-run homeruns. Cavone would walk with bases loaded to have the girls up 5-0 going into the fifth.
 
After a scoreless inning by both teams, Stanislaus would wake up as they began to get runners on. They would get walks and after 2 hits, they would score three runs. Maddie Davis would stop the bleeding with a strikeout and the Cowgirls would be up 5-3.
 
The Cowgirls would counter back as an error by the centerfielder would help score Kamai off a single by Solis. Borunda would come up and drive in Solis with a single of her own. After a wild pitch and another RBI single, the Cowgirls would drive their third run of the inning.
 
The inning would continue, as Caporal would single to score another run and have the bases loaded. The girls would score six runs on one out and still have bases loaded.
 
The Cowgirls dominate sixth inning gave the girls the momentum and the win as they beat Stanislaus 11-3.
 
The Cowgirls have one more game in Las Vegas, N.V. against Cal State Dominguez Hills tomorrow, Sunday February 7, at 3 p.m. mst. Live stats will be available.
