Box Score 2 GOODWELL, Okla.- The Cowgirl softball team made a day trip to Goodwell, Okla. to take on the Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle University in a double header. The Cowgirls dropped both games by a score of 8-6 and 5-4.

Game 1The Cowgirls wasted no time getting on the board in the first game.
Jacquelyn Solis lead the Cowgirls off with a single to right. A walk by
Ka'iulani Kamai saw four balls for a walk. Dakota Monarrez pulled a sneaky play by laying down a bunt to moves Solis and Kamai over to second and third. After a Cowgirl out
Alysia Cavone knocked a shot to right where the right fielder couldn't come up with it as Solis and Kamai crossed the plate to make it a 2-0 game after just half an inning.

In the bottom of the first the Aggies took advantage of Cowgirls' errors. It all started when the Cowgirls hit the lead off hitter, Jarzombek. Barbosa laid down a bunt to move Jarzombek over to second. Bolton singled to right and drove Jarzombek across the plate. Wilson stepped into the box and was hit by a pitch. Heathington followed it up with a single to left to load the bases. Gregori hit a sharp ball to the to the Cowgirl's third baseman but she was not able to field it cleanly and Bolton crossed the plate to make it a 2-2 game. A single by Ibarra pushed Wilson across to give the Aggies the 3-2 lead. An error by the Cowgirl catcher allowed Heathington to score. Coach
Karin Gadberry made four changes to the Cowgirls defense. After an out by the Aggies, Jarzombek earned three RBIs on an error by the center fielder and the Aggies would be would lead the Cowgirls 7-2 after just one inning.

Monica Caporal led off the top of the fourth with a single to right center.
Breanna Cabrera used that same right center gap to single and move Caporal over to third. After a Cowgirl out Monarrez hit a double to right and drove in Caporal and Cabrera.
Ashton Borunda followed the double up with a single to left, an error would allow Monarrez to score and make it a 7-5 Aggie lead going into the bottom of the fourth.

The Cowgirls would score one more in the top of the sixth when Borunda single up the middle and score Monarrez from third. The Aggies answered with a run in the bottom to make the final score 8-6.

Game 2The Aggies continued their early run production in the bottom of the second. It started with an error by the Cowgirl shortstop when Gregori reached first. Recinos grounded out to fist and moved Gregori over to second. The next two Aggie batters were hit by pitches which loaded the bases. Barbosa dug in and singled to short to score Gregori. Bolton then knocked the ball to right for a sacrifice fly to score Villarreal from third. Wilson showed off her bat and speed with a double to right center to push Jarzombek and make it 3-0. Heathington singled to right but it allowed Barbosa and Wilson. After just two innings the Aggies led by a score of 5-0.

The Cowgirls began to chip away at the Aggie lead in the top of the forth. Borunda walked to lead off the Cowgirls. Cavone followed with a single through the right side. Cabtera moved Borunda and Cavone over to second and third on a fielder's choice.
Victoria Gonzales would drive Cavone in on a single to the shortstop.

The top of the fifth was the Cowgirl's biggest inning. Caporal led off the inning with a walk. A single by Monarrez single to single and gave the Cowgirls runners and first an second. A ground out by Borunda moved the runners over to second and third on a ground out to the shortstop. An error by the Aggie third baseman on a Cavone hit allowed Caporal to score. Two batters later
Megan Thursby singled to center and earned two RBIs as Cavone and Monarrez scored to cut the Aggies' lead to 5-4.

The Aggies would send the Cowgirls down in order in the top of the sixth and seventh to take game two by a score of 5-4 and sweep the Cowgirls.

The Cowgirls will return to action on Saturday at home as they host Metro St. in a four game series. The Roadrunners and Cowgirls will player two on Saturday, noon and 2 p.m., and two on Sunday, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Live stats and video will be available.Â
