Box Score 2 DURANGO, Colo.- The Cowgirls rounded out their first RMAC pod of the season this afternoon with two games, the first against Colorado Mines and the second against Colorado Mines.

Game 1 vs Colorado MinesÂ
The Orediggers wasted no time getting on the board in the top of the first. With two outs and ad a runner on second, Jones singled up the middle to give the Orediggers the 1-0 lead. With the bases loaded Dempsey was hit by a pitch, then Fujinaga singled up the middle to score two and make it a 4-0 game after just three outs.

The Orediggers were only able to get one more run when they had the bases loaded with out out in the top of the second. They kept going in the top of the fourth. With Jones at the plate and runners on second and third, Jones hit the ball to second but the runner headed home was too quick so the Cowgirls had to take the out at first. Toot followed with a double to left to score another run. After a fly out to the catcher Dempsey reached on a Cowgirl error by the left fielder which allowed Toot to score.

The Cowgirls were on the board in the bottom of the fourth. It started with a walk to
Victoria Gonzales on four straight pitches.
Ashton Borunda moved Gonzales over to second on a ground out to second. Gonzales stole third to give the Cowgirls a runner just 60 feet away from the plate. Two batters later
Jamie Weatherbee singled to left and scored Gonzales from third to make it an 8-1 game after four innings.

The Orediggers wanted to start their trip back to Denver early. They scored four runs in the top of the fifth to force the Cowgirls to score at least four runs to keep the game going.

The Cowgirls ended up falling to the Orediggers by a score of 12-1 in six innings.
Game 2 vs Fort LewisThe Cowgirls were on the board first as they would hold the lead and take the last game of the pod by a score of 6-0.

With one out Alycia Cavone doubled to left center to give the Cowgirls the first hit of the game in the top of the second. After a Cowgirl strike out
Marissa Valencia hit a ball to right but the Skyhawk right fielder was not able to make the play and Cavone was able to score and give the Cowgirls the 1-0 lead. After a

Jade Callister tripled down the left field line and scored both Valencia and Caporal to make it a 3-0 lead after one and a half innings of work.

The top of the fourth would be big for the Cowgirls as well. Callister led things off with a single to left. After two Cowgirl outs Soils doubled to the left field line and Callister scored. Soils showed her speed and stole third. Borunda singled to the pitcher and allowed Soils to score. After four innings the Cowgirls led by a score of 5-0.

The Cowgirls would add one more insurance run in the top of the seventh.
Brittany Moya hit a ball to left field and advanced to second on a on error by the left fielder. Valencia doubled to left center and drove in Moya to make it a 6-0 game. Â

The Cowgirls took the game over the Skyhawks by a score of 6-0.
