In-State Midweek Rivalry For Cowgirls

LAS VEGAS, N.M.- The Cowgirl softball team will host in-state rival Eastern New Mexico in a midweek two game showdown.

Just a Quick Reminder 
The New Mexico Highlands athletics department would like to remind fans and guests about a few things. First, please do not bring outside food and drink to the softball fields. There will be food and drinks available at the concession stand. Second, PETS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE GATES. Please leave your pets at home. Lastly, please park in the Wilson Complex as the gate by the field house will be locked for both car and foot traffic. Tickets are $5.
 
Scouting New Mexico Highlands
The Cowgirls are coming off a weekend off after having their series at Chadron St. canceled due to weather. The Cowgirls enter the weekend with an 8-21, 5-15 record. The Cowgirls and Greyhounds splits a single day doubleheader back in February.
 
In the circle the Cowgirls are led by Michelle Brincefield in wins with four while holding a 4.52 ERA in 12 games, nine of which were starts. Brianna Velasquez leads the team in ERA at 2.66 with a 2-4 record in 11 games. Madison Davis leads the team in innings pitched with 69.0 in 13 games with 11 of those being starts.
 
Jacquelyn Solis leads the team at the plate with a .333 batting average while starting in 28 games. She also leads the team in hits with 31 and doubles with five. Leading the team in RBIs is Marissa Valencia with 18 while batting .259 with 21 hits, three doubles, and one homerun.

 
Scouting Eastern New Mexico 
The Greyhounds enter the week with a 10-28, 3-17 (Lone Star) record having lost their last 10 games. Their last win came on March 12^th when they took the last game of a four game series against Texas A&M Commerce by a score of 8-7.
 
Leading the Greyhounds in the circle is with a 5-5 record and a 6.89 ERA is Aja Secheslingloff. She has eight complete games in 10 starts this season. Leading the team in starts is Natasha Kissell with 15 while playing in 20 games and holding an 8.66 ERA and a 2-14 record.
 
At the plate Kyra Sirag leads the 'Hounds with a .424 average while playing and starting in 37-of-38 games this season. She leads the team in RBIs as well with 30 and slugging percentage at .627. Leading the 'Hounds in dingers in Susannah Chandler with seven.
