LAS VEGAS, N.M.- The Cowgirls are coming off their midweek showdown with Eastern New Mexico where they took the two game sweep. This weekend they will welcome the Yellowjackets of Black Hills St. for a four game series.

The New Mexico Highlands athletics department would like to remind fans and guests about a few things. First, please do not bring outside food and drink to the softball fields. There will be food and drinks available at the concession stand. Second, PETS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE GATES. Please leave your pets at home. Lastly, please park in the Wilson Complex as the gate by the field house will be locked for both car and foot traffic. Tickets are $5.

Scouting New Mexico HighlandsThe Cowgirls come into the weekend with a 10-21, 5-15 record. As mentioned the Cowgirls are coming off the two game sweep of the Greyhounds after an unexpected weekend off as weather canceled their series in Nebraska against Chadron St.

In the circle the Cowgirls are led by
Michelle Brincefield and
Madison Davis, who both picked up wins against the Greyhounds. Brincefield in 5-7 with a 4.24 ERA with 10 starts, 35 walks, and 48 strikeouts. Leading the team in ERA is
Brianna Velasquez at 2.66 with a 2-4 record in 11 games played.

Jacquelyn Solis leads the team in the box with a .343 average with six extra base hits and 10 RBIs.
Marissa Valencia is leading the team in RBIs with 20 while batting .279.
Ka'iulani Kamai is the only team with multiple homeruns as she has two on the season.

Scouting Black Hills St.Â
The Yellowjackets enter the weekend with a 6-18, 6-13 record coming off an unexpected weekend off as their series against Regis was canceled. The weekend before the Yellowjackets dropped a three game series to UC-Colorado Springs.

Leading the way for the Yellowjackets in the circle is Stefanie Witman who has a 3.87 ERA and a 4-6 record in nine games started and two relief appearances. The Cowgirls should also be ready for Carlee Beck who has a 4.80 ERA with a 1-5 record in 14 games, eight of which are starts.
