Box Score 2 ALAMOSA, Colo.- The Cowgirls traveled to Alamosa to take on the rival Grizzles of Adams St. in a series that has been pushed forward a day due to probable weather.

Game 1
Despite the Cowgirls getting on the board first, the Grizzles took the first game of the series by a score of 10-6.
The Cowgirls were on the board in the first innings on a single up the middle by Alycia Cavone that scored
Jamie Weatherbee frim third. The Grizzles took the lead in the bottom half of the inning. With a runner of second Riggins singled to the pitcher and score on an error by the Cowgirl pitcher. After a single by Griego, Hays went deep to left center to give the Grizzlies the 4-1 lead after one.

In the third inning the Cowgirls made a push to regain the lead. With the bases loaded KK Kamai singled to and scored
Jacquelyn Solis from third.
Megan Thursby followed with another single to score Cavone. Freshman
Jade Callister grounded out to first but Monarrez was off on contact and scored to tie the game.
Monica Caporal single through the left side to score Kamai and give the Cowgirls the 5-4 lead.

The Cowgirls added a run in the fourth on a double to right field by Monarrez that score Solis from second and give the Cowgirls the 6-4 lead. The grizzlies tied in in the bottom half of the inning to make it an interesting game. With the bases loaded Griego singled to left and pushed a run across. Hays followed up with a single to short where she beat out the throw and a run came into score to tie the game at six.

It was in the bottom of the sixth when the Grizzles retook the lead with a two run homerun by Griego on the 10
th pitch of the at bat. Just two batters latter Kautz went deep down the left field line and made it a 10-6 lead with the Cowgirls down to their final three outs.

The Cowgirls were not able to come back as they fell in the first game by a score of 10-6.
Madison Davis went six innings with one walk, three strike outs, and 10 earned runs with 108 pitches.

Game 2
The Grizzlies used nine runs in the first two innings to take the second game from the Cowgirls by a score of 10-9.

The Cowgirls were on the board in the top of the first inning. With the bases loaded Monarrez singled to right field to give the Cowgirls the 1-0 lead just five batters in. Kamai followed with another single to right and Solis scored. The Cowgirls then took advantage of a fielder's choice and an error on a hit by Callister that score Cavone and Monarrez. Just three innings into the game the Cowgirls were up 4-0.

The Grizzlies added three runs in the bottom of the first on back-to-back-to-back extra base hits. They kept the runs coming in the bottom of the second. With two runners in scoring position Harmon reached base on an error by the Cowgirl pitcher and allowed the Grizzlies to tie the game. Harmon stole second and on the throw Johnson came into score and give the home team the 5-4 led. The Grizzlies went on to take the 9-4 lead after just two innings.

The Grizzlies added another run in the bottom of the third on a single down the left field line with runners on first and second.

The Cowgirls would start their comeback in the fourth. With runners on first and second Solis doubled to centerfield to score Weatherbee from second.
Brittany Moya then came around to score on the next at-bat by Cavone who singled through the left side and advanced to second on the throw home. Monarrez then stepped into the box and went deep to right center for a three run homerun and to make it a one run game, 10-9 heading into the bottom of the fourth. The Cowgirls held the Grizzles there and gave themselves a chance to tie or take the lead.

Unfortunatly, the Cowgirls were not able to finish the comeback as they fell by a score of 10-9.
