Cowgirls Fall At Pueblo

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PUEBLO, Colo.- It was a rough day for the Cowgirls as their opened their last series of the season against the Thunderwolves of CSU-Pueblo. The Thunderwolves took both games from the Cowgirls by scored of 10-1 and 3-1.
 
Game 1
The Thunderwolves were on the board in the second inning. With runners on second and third Burpee doubled to drive in two runs. Three batters later with the bases loaded Turney hit into a fielder's choice that allowed Burpee to score. The Thunderwovles added one more to make it 4-0.
 
In the fourth inning the Cowgirls scored their only run of the game. After two Cowgirl lineouts Victoria Gonzales reached on a Thunderwolves' error. Dekota Monarrez walked and KK Kamai dug into the box. She didn't let the Thunderwolves off the hook for the error as she drove the ball to left field and Gonzales score from second.
 
Errors by the Cowgirls gave the Thunderwolves a chance to build their led. With two runners in scoring position Montoya singled to left and brought in a run. An error by the Cowgirl catcher allowed another run to come in. The biggest blow came from Martindale when she went deep to right center for a grand slam. The Thunderwolves then retired the
 
Game 2
The second game was a pitcher's duel as the Thunderwolves took the game by a score of 3-1.
 
In the bottom of the second the Thunderwolves were on the board. Smith led off with a double to left. Burpee went deep to left and made it a 2-0 game. They added their third run in the bottom of the third on a single to right with runners on the corners.
 
Two errors by the Thunderwovles allowed the Cowgirls to put a crooked number on the board. Monarrez reached base on a shortstop error. Jade Callister came up to the plate with two outs and singled through the left side to put Monarrez at third. She would score on an error by the Thuderwolves' error.
 
Unfortunately the Cowgirls were not able to plate any more runs as they fell 3-1.
 
These two teams will close the regular season with a double header tomorrow. The first game will start at 11 a.m. Live stats will be provided by CSU-Pueblo.
