LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands softball team hits the road this week to take on Dixie State in a four-game series Friday and Saturday at Karl Brook Field in St. George, Utah.
The Cowgirls dropped three of four to Adams State on Sunday and Monday during NMHU's final home games - winning the series opener 9-1 before falling in the final three games.
Breanna Cabrera,
Leah Osborn and
Brooklynn DeLozier are all hitting above .350 for the Cowgirls this season with Cabrera hitting .373 with a homer, 11 RBI and eight runs, Osborn hitting .366 with four homers and team highs in RBI (16), runs (21) and doubles (10) and DeLozier is hitting .358 with three homers, six RBI and 16 runs.

Belinda Gonzalez leads the team with a 7-8 mark and a 5.96 ERA.
Dixie State sits in fourth place in the RMAC at 23-9 after taking three of four on the road at Chadron State. The Trailblazers are 10-2 over their last 12 games.
Jessica Gonzalez has been the big bat in the Dixie State lineup this season as she's hitting .386 with nine home runs, five doubles, 34 RBI and 21 runs. As a team, the Trailblazers are hitting .303 with five players hitting above .300.Â
Dixie State has been strong in the circle with a team ERA of 2.67. Three pitchers have thrown all 252 innings this season in Cambrie Hazel (2.23 ERA, 12-5, 150 strikeouts, 109.2 innings), Carissa Burgess (2.79, 16-4, 60 strikeouts, 113 innings) and Alexandria Melendez (4.06 ERA, 1-1, 15 strikeouts, 29.1 innings).
