LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands softball team returns to action back at Cowgirl Field as they continue their 12-game homestand as they host Fort Lewis for a four-game series starting noon Saturday.
NMHU is coming off being swept by Chadron State at home - with two of the losses by two runs or less. On Saturday,
Brooklynn DeLozier stepped up for NMHU as she blasted a home run in each game.
On the season, Osborn continues to lead the team in hitting at .383, RBI with 12 and doubles with eight to go along with two homers.
Breanna Cabrera (.353) and
Camrynn Ziegler (.339) continue to hit above .300 with Ziegler a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen base attempts. Over the weekend,
Ashley Forshee also blasted her team-best fourth home run of the season.

Belinda Gonzalez continues to lead the Cowgirls as she's 5-6 on the season with a 6.25 ERA, 40 strikeouts and nine complete games in 67.2 innings pitched.
Fort Lewis heads into the weekend having dropped three in a row while dropping three of four in a pod against UC Colorado Springs (went 1-1) and Colorado School of Mines (0-2) this weekend.Â
Angelique Elemen continues to lead the Skyhawks in hitting as she's batting .451 with 12 home runs, 11 doubles and 31 RBI while McKenna Hefley is hitting .370 with five homers, a team-best 12 doubles and 25 RBI. In the circle, Kassidy Trumbo (6.01 ERA, 75.2 innings), Emily Morris (6.09 ERA, 64.1 innings) and Kelly Decker (7.95 ERA, 49.1 innings).
NMHU went 1-3 against Fort Lewis last season in Durango - including dropping a high scoring 18-17 contest in the series finale.
