COWGIRLS HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2021-22 STATISTICS
The Cowgirls opened the season with three games in four days, falling in a pair of close contests in Silver City to Western New Mexico (65-61) and Eastern New Mexico (56-51) before bouncing back to win their home opener against University of the Southwest (N.M.) 66-47 on Monday at Wilson Complex.
Jordyn Lewis leads the team in scoring through the first three games of the season at 13 points per game.
Maiah Rivas is second on the team while averaging 4.7 rebounds along with team highs in assists (2.7) and steals (2.0).
Aja Scott is averaging 11.5 points per game as well for the Cowgirls to go along with a team-high 8.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks.
NMHU is forcing 14.0 turnovers per contest compared to committing 11.3 per game.
TEXAS A&M INTERNATIONAL HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2021-22 STATISTICS
The Dustdevils played their season opener Saturday against RMAC-opponent Chadron State, winning 92-72 - outscoring the Eagles by 25 points through the first three quarters.
Raiana Brown led the team with 19 points to go alogn with five steals, four rebounds and four assists. Emily Swiercz had 17 points while Clara Fernandez had 13 points, five rebounds and five assists. As a team, TAMI went 10-for-27 from 3-point range and shot 47.8 percent from the field overall. It also dominated the glass, outrebounding CSC 41-26.
