Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands softball team is at home for the fourth straight weekend as they are slated to host Chadron State with games beginning at 12 PM on Saturday March 27
th at the HU Softball Field in Las Vegas, NM.

The Cowgirls hope to snap an 8-game losing streak as the Cowgirls last win came against Regis (13-7 W) on March 7
th. The Cowgirls are led by
Camrynn Ziegler with a .381 batting average and a team high seven doubles while catcher
Carlee Gonzalez is not far behind hitting .375 with a team high 14 RBI. You can also expect to see
Megan Gutierrez (.370 AVG, 17 hits),
Savannah Pineda Chavez (.368 AVG, 14 hits), and
Samantha Gamboa (.294 AVG, 15 hits) light things up for the Cowgirls offensively.

The Cowgirls will go with
Nathalie Blattmann in the circle who holds a 7.25 ERA with 62 runs scored off 82 hits and 15 strikeouts and
Paige Varni with a 6.24 ERA, giving up 58 runs off 90 hits and 19 strikeouts. Gamboa has also seen time on the rubber with a 5.25 ERA and 4 strikeouts in 8 innings pitched.

The Eagles (4-12, 4-8 RMAC) started conference play with a 4-3 record but have dropped their last five games. The Eagles lone player hitting above .350 is Bailey Marvel with a .385 batting average and two home runs. You can expect to see Peyton Propp (5.41 ERA, 33 strikeouts) and Tia Kohl (8.97 ERA, 18 strikeouts) pitching for the Eagles.
