Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands softball team heads to Durango, CO to take on Fort Lewis in a four-game RMAC matchup with a double-header slated for 5 pm on Friday evening and another double-header scheduled for 12 pm on Saturday morning.

The Cowgirls (5-19, 5-19 RMAC) are coming off a four-game series with Colorado Mesa where the Mavericks put up double digit runs in every game and won the series 4-0. The Cowgirls are batting .272 with 174 hits (9
th in RMAC), 14 home runs, and 93 RBI on the season with junior
Camrynn Ziegler leading the way with a .378 batting average (31
st in RMAC), team-high 34 hits, and 13 RBI.
Carlee Gonzalez isn't far behind with a .367 batting average and 22 hits, team-high 6 home runs, and team-high 21 RBI. You can also expect to see
Megan Gutierrez (.311 AVG, 19 hits, 9 RBI),
Savannah Pineda Chavez (.283 AVG, 15 hits), and
Tamia Yellowman (.258, AVG, 16 hits, 5 RBI) offensively for the Cowgirls.

Nathalie Blattmann who has started in 14 games this season with a 6.80 ERA, 112 hits, and 28 strikeouts.
Paige Varni (6.24 ERA, 19 strikeouts) and
Samantha Gamboa (8.73 ERA, 10 strikeouts) also aid the Cowgirls pitching staff.

Fort Lewis (7-15, 7-11 RMAC) is coming off a four-game series with CSU Pueblo where the Skyhawks and ThunderWolves split the series. The Skyhawks are hitting .277 on the season with 165 hits, 91 RBI, and 19 home runs. You can expect to see Brianna Leavell (.375 AVG, 17 RBI, 7 HR), Shelby Hotchkiss (.364, 10 RBI), and Kylie Hefley (.301 AVG,11 RBI) in the batter's box. Leavell also has started 10 games in the circle for the Skyhawks with a 5.22 ERA, 67 runs off 97 hits, and 59 strikeouts.
