Cowgirls Softball Preview

LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands Softball team begins their season on the road this Friday against Simon Fraiser in Los Lunas as part of the South Central Regional Challenge.
The Cowgirls enter the 2023 season with a seasoned club featuring 8 seniors of greater. Ayanna Lorenzo, Carlee Gonzalez, Demi Uffelman, who is questionable to return from injury this season, Megan Gutierrez, Gloria Di Lauro, Nia Martinez, Alice Midiri, Arianna Ramirez. This core will see considerable playing time and will be the core that helps raise NMHU from a preseason prediction of 12th in the RMAC.

In the interim.
Ashley Forshee is taking over for the Cowgirls as Interim Head Coach as the University continues their search for new leadership. Having assisted last season while injured this is the first head coaching opportunity that Forshee has had. Her connection to the players will be the advantage she brings into the season.
