Kenard Richardson Named RMAC Player Of The Week

Colorado Springs, Colorado - New Mexico Highlands senior Kenard Richardson was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week the league office announced this afternoon.

Richardson's play helped the Cowboys to a 2-0 week as NMHU recorded wins over Western New Mexico and Western Colorado to improve to 6-1 on the season. For the week, the Richmond, Virginia, native averaged 18.0 points and 8.0 rebounds and shot 61% from the floor and 78% from the free throw line. He is currently third in the RMAC in scoring at 17.1 points per game and eighth in the conference shooting 54% from the floor.

"Kenard was great over the weekend, he took good shots and it helps when you are as talented as he is," said Head Coach Mike Dominguez. "He's been great for us and, with the team we have, it can be anyone on any night."

Richardson is the first NMHU player to earn RMAC weekly honors since former Cowboy Dante Moses was recognized the week of December 19, 2022.

The Cowboys open RMAC play this Thursday when Regis visits historic Las Vegas for a 7:00 pm game.
