Las Vegas, New Mexico - The NMHU softball team is on the road this weekend playing doubleheaders at Colorado School of Mines Saturday and Sunday. First pitch is 12:00 pm Saturday and 11:00 am Sunday.
The Orediggers enter play this weekend at 5-9 overall and 2-6 in conference games after dropping four games last weekend to Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction. The Orediggers and Cowgirls have met 133 times in softball in a series that dates back to the mid 1980s with NMHU holding a 75-58 edge in the previous meetings.
The Cowgirls, like the Orediggers, were swept last weekend as they dropped four to MSU-Denver in Las Vegas. NMHU is 5-8 overall and 1-7 in the RMAC. Senior
Karla Banegas leads the way offensively as she is hitting .435 and a team high five doubles. In the circle junior
Maya Milano has a record of 4-2 and ERA of 4.45.
