RMAC Releases 2025 Softball Coaches' Poll

Colorado Springs, Colorado - The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its Preseason Softball Coaches' Poll and Players To Watch for the 2025 season. New Mexico Highlands received 22 points in the voting, just behind Chadron State. Colorado Mesa was selected to repeat as the regular season champion in voting by the conference's twelve coaches.

Karla Banegas was named to the RMAC Preseason Players to Watch List. The senior from Las Cruces appeared in 43 games for the Cowgirls and had a team high .364 batting average.

NMHU was 16-31 overall and 12-30 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference a season ago. Marc Benjamin takes over as head Coach of the Cowgirls for the 2025 campaign.

The Cowgirls open the season on January 31st at the South Central Regional Tournament in Los Lunas against in-state rivals Western New Mexico. The 2025 home opener is scheduled for February 14th against Colorado Christian.
