Rapid City, South Dakota - South Dakota Mines handed NMHU a 3-0 loss on Friday night at the King Center. The Cowgirls are 7-11 overall and 2-5 in RMAC play while the Hardrockers improve to 5-12 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
The Cowgirls started the match strong as they led by as many as six points midway through the opening set before the hosts closed out on a 15-5 run en route to a 25-21 win. South Dakota Mines led the second set from start to finish and closed out the match with a 25-23 win in set three.
Aziza Morris paced the Cowgirls offensively as she had ten kills and hit.526 in the match.
Arianna Jamerson added nine kills.
Elise Fourt and Becca Wiersma had two service aces apiece.
Defensively, Wiersma had a team high 11 digs in the match.
South Dakota Mines out-hit NMHU .297 to .167.
The Cowgirls are at Black Hills State tomorrow evening for a 5:30 pm match.
