Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowgirls have a pair of non-conference matches on tap this weekend as they head to Chadron, Nebraska, for RMAC Power Pod action. NMHU plays Black Hills State on Friday at 6:00 pm and Chadron State on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm.
NMHU is 9-12 overall and 4-6 in RMAC matches entering play on Friday evening.
NMHU HEAD COACH: 
Meg Grose is in her second season at New Mexico HIghlands. She earned her first win as the head coach of the Cowgirls over Sul Ross State on September 13th and her first conference win against Adams State on September 20th, 2024. She was previously the head coach at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin.
LAST TIME OUT: The Cowgirls split a pair of five-set RMAC matches last weekend in historic Las Vegas. On Friday night the Cowgirls beat Western Colorado 3-2 before falling to Fort Lewis 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore 
Elise Fourt had a career high 11 kills and hit .611 in the match against Fort Lewis while junior Becca Wiersma led the way defensively with 33 digs for the Cowgirls.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS: Black Hills State is 6-14 overall and 2-8 in RMAC play and will play Chadron State on Thursday night to open play this weekend. Grayson DuBose is in his first year leading the Yellow Jackets program. The Cowgirls topped BHSU in an RMAC match earlier this season in Spearfish. Over the last ten meetings between the two teams the series is knotted up at 5-5.
Chadron State is 4-16 overall and 1-9 in conference play heading into Thursday's match with Black Hills State. Jennifer Stadler is in her seventh season at the helm of the Eagle volleyball program. This is the second meeting of the season between the two teams with the Cowgirls topping the Eagles in a conference match earlier this month in Las Vegas. Chadron State holds a 6-4 edge in the last 10 meetings with the Cowgirls.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING: As a team, the Cowgirls are second in the RMAC with 16.67 digs per set and they are second in the conference at 1.82 service aces per set.
Becca Wiersema is seventh in the RMAC with 4.08 digs per set and ninth with 0.37 service aces per set.
Meg Pfannerstill is seventh in the RMAC with 0.38 service aces per set.
The Cowgirls 20 service aces against Northwestern Oklahoma State is the most by an RMAC team this season.
