Colorado Springs, Colorado - New Mexico Highlands guard
Kapiolani Anitielu has been named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced this afternoon. The honor follows a standout weekend for Anitielu, who was named Tournament Most Valuable Player at this weekend's Great Western Shootout.
Anitielu averaged 23.0 points per game while shooting 55.0 percent (11-of-20) from the field. She also contributed 4.0 rebounds per game, along with four assists, three steals, and two blocks over the tournament.
"Excited for her", said NMHU Head Coach
Lindsey Fearing. "She's been putting in the work to get recognized for this award."
The award marks the second Player of the Week recognition of Anitielu's career, as she previously earned RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on January 20 of last season.
New Mexico Highlands returns to action on January 8 when Colorado Mesa visits historic Las Vegas. Tipoff is set for 5:00 pm.
