Juliana Aragon was voted to the 2024-25 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic First Team in an announcement by the league office Wednesday morning.
The RMAC All-Academic First Team and Academic Player of the Year awards are voted on by the conference's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration on the RMAC All-Academic First Team, a student-athlete must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters and carry a cumulative 3.50 grade point average (GPA).
Aragon, named to the All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Basketball 2nd Team earlier this month, has a 3.76GPA while majoring in Human Performance and Sport.
On the court this season, Aragon scored her 1,000th career point on January 30th and recorded her 250th career assist on February 8th. She finished the season ninth in the RMAC in scoring at 15.6 ppg, fourth in assists with 4.3 per game, and tied for ninth with 1.8 steals per game. She was ninth in the conference in field goal percentage at 41.4% and number one in free throw percentage at 87.5%. Aragon's Assist/Turnover ratio of 1.3 is seventh best in the RMAC.
Aragon is the first Cowgirl to earn RMAC All-Academic First Team since Michelle Traynham was selected in 2015-16.
Additionally, sophomore Emma Christano was named to the Women's Basketball Academic Honor Roll. Christiano appeared in all 27 games this season for the Cowgirls and has a 3.72 GPA while majoring in Biology.
The Cowgirls qualified for the RMAC Tournament this season for the first time since 2004-05.
