Las Vegas, New Mexico - Second year wrestling Coach Chris Freije announced his 2025 signing class this morning. This year's class features 28 new grapplers from seven different states, including eight from New Mexico.
"We're excited about the group we have joining the Cowboy family," said Head Coach Chris Freije. "The sport is the vehicle, but it's about more than wrestling for us at New Mexico Highlands. The cornerstones of our program lie in consistency with our integrity, work ethic, self-accountability, and having positive passion and gratitude for your pursuits."
He continued, "This year's group of student-athletes, and their families fit that mold. We're bringing in 15 freshmen, and 13 transfers from seven different states who we feel are strong carriers of those qualities. It's about living in an environment where the daily focus is on growth, and development- academically, athletically, and personally. Fueling the ideal of lifelong learning, and helping shape leaders is paramount for us. If you have a group of people geared towards that, the competitive accolades tend to follow in tow."
