Cowgirls Fall In Alamosa On Tuesday Night

Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowgirls dropped a 3-0 decision in their first conference road match of the season on Tuesday night at Alamosa. NMHU is now 4-7 overall and 0-3 in the RMAC.

The host Grizzlies controlled the match winning 25-18, 25-11, 25-19 over the Cowgirls. They outhit NMHU .262 to .078.

"Very disappointing effort tonight," said Coach Meg Grose. "We'll get back to work and get ready to have a much better effort Saturday night in Colorado."

Aziza Morris and Jaylee Gonzales led the Cowgirls with five kills apiece. Naya Dornic had 11 assists.

Defensively, Becca Wiersma led NMHU with 18 digs. Elise Forte and Jayle Gonzales each had three block assists.

The Cowgirls head back out onto the road Saturday evening when they play a 5:00 pm match in Golden against the Colorado School of Mines.
