Alamosa, Colorado - The Cowgirls opened the first pod of the season on the road with Adams State.
Set One: Set one belonged to the Grizzlies as they had a four-point run that made it 17-9, and the deficit was too much as the Cowgirls dropped it 25-16.
Set Two: Set two was more of a back-and-forth affair, but a three-point run towards the end gave the Cowgirls the run they needed to get the win.
Set Three: The third set was won on a four-point run by Adams State late. Given them the boost they needed to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
Set Four: Backs against the wall, the Cowgirls would not back down, taking set four despite a four-point run early by the Grizzlies. The Cowgirls would not go away quietly.
Set Five: Set five was controlled by the Grizzlies, including the five-point run they went on that gave them a 13-7 lead over the Cowgirls. With a three-point run, it was not enough for the Cowgirls as they fell in set five.
