Las Vegas, New Mexico - New Mexico Highlands wrestling is back in Golden on Saturday for the NCAA Super Region VI tournament hosted by Colorado School of Mines at Lockridge Arena.Â
After a solid season, the Cowboys are hopeful to have success at the NCAA Super Regionals, wherein the top 3 placers for every weight class qualifies for the NCAA National Championships in Sioux Falls, SD on March 13-14.
With a returning qualifier in number eight ranked
Ivan Smith Jr., and several wrestlers that have either beaten ranked wrestlers or been just outside of the NWCA National Rankings such as
Diego Camarillo,
Terrell Kinlicheenie and
Devin Kinlicheenie, Coach
Chris Freije hopes to come away from this tournament with several National Qualifiers.

The Cowboys who place in the top three of their respective weight classes on Saturday will move on to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on March 13 and 14.
