Las Vegas, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands wrestling program has announced the addition of Logan Hall as an assistant coach, head coach
Chris Freije announced.
Most recently an assistant coach at Lander University, Hall joins the Cowboys after two successful seasons helping guide the program to national prominence at the NCAA Division II level. During his tenure, Hall was part of coaching staffs that produced 17 NCAA Division II National Championship qualifiers, 10 All-Americans, and two individual national champions. His teams also posted top-four finishes nationally, placing second and fourth, while capturing a pair of NCAA Super Region titles and two conference championships.
"Adding Logan to our staff is something I'm extremely excited about, and that term might be putting it lightly," said Freije. "Logan is a NCAA II National Finalist, and was a part of a program as a wrestler, and then coach that finished 2nd, 2nd, 4th in the NCAA during his time there. His passion for, and knowledge of the sport are tough to match.
"Adding on to that, his quality of character, wrestling IQ, and experience in the profession will help build Highlands into the national powerhouse we're moving towards. He's a great person, has values that align with our program, is a student of the sport, and brings a work ethic and level of commitment to the table that I know many coaches simply don't have.
"Bringing him on board is absolutely going to elevate the individuals on our team on the mat, and as people. Our goal is to build leaders, and Logan being here will absolutely contribute to our guys' overall growth, and their preparedness to cultivate a successful life after college."
A native of Canton, Ohio, Hall brings an accomplished resume as both a student-athlete and coach. He wrestled at Notre Dame College from 2017-22 before competing at Lander University during the 2022-23 season.
During his competitive career, Hall was an NCAA Division II National Finalist and captured a Super Region II Championship, earning Super Region II Wrestler of the Year honors. He was a two-time NCAA Division II National Qualifier and earned First Team All-Conference recognition twice in the Mountain East Conference and once in the South Atlantic Conference.
Hall's success has continued on the coaching side, where he has played a key role in developing high-level talent. In addition to his national qualifiers and All-Americans, he has helped coach 10 individual Super Region champions.
