#23 Trent Evins
The NMHU Cowboys bounced back on 5/14 to eliminate RMAC foe the University of Nebraska-Kearney Lopers with a 9-3 win. The #1 seeded Cowboys were stunned by the St. Cloud State Huskies in the first round of the NCAA Central Regional as they fell 11-2 on 5/13. The Cowboys will now wait to see who they will face on 5/15 in the 3:00 pm game. The Cowboys are now 40-12 on the season and 1-1 in NCAA Regional play.

"This team will bounce back" was what NMHU Head Coach Steve Jones said after the Cowboys 11-2 loss on 4/13 and they did just that as the Cowboys bats came out on fire against the Lopers.

Getting the win on the mound for the Cowboys was Trent Evins (8-1). Evins had a great day on the mound as he held the Lopers to just two runs on eight hits in eight complete innings pitched while recording a season high seven strikeouts in the win. Coming in for relief to close out the game was Tyler Wichmann. Wichmann pitched one complete inning and allowed one run on three hits.

Outstanding players for the Cowboys include: David Bustillos, Jason Carr, Danny Brown and Kyle Gutchewsky. Bustillos finished the day going 2-4 with two runs scored, three RBI's and two homeruns. Carr finished going 2-5 with one run scored, two RBI's and one homerun. Brown finished going 2-5 with one run scored and one RBI with one homerun. Gutchewsky rounds out the top performers by going 2-4 with one run scored.
