Leaders for the Cowboys:
Thought from Head Coach
Jeff Mills:
This afternoon Colorado Mines defeated us by out executing us and running the ball more effectively. I thought it would be more balanced in terms of our run game to their run game. We weren't able to run the ball, they were able to run the ball at times. Justin Dvorak, credit to him as quarterback he had a great day. Really balanced player, very accurate passer who distributed the ball to I believe 10 different receivers. They executed and we turn the ball over in the 1st half which was critical because we dug ourselves a hole. We tried to go for it on 4th down and did not get it and then they capitalized. We need to grow up as a defense we need to respond better when we are put in sudden change situations. We had one time in the first half that we did, but there were other times where we did not rise to the situation to get stops, especially on 4th downs. We are going to continue to work and have a positive attitude as we grow as a team I think that there were some positives on the special teams play. Overall, they beat us in all three phases of the game; offense, defense, and special teams. We need to go back to work on Monday and get ready for our next opponent. Credit to Colorado Mines. We look forward to our next opportunity to compete.
