LAS VEGAS, N.M.- New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team tip off Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play against in-state rival Western New Mexico University on Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. in the John A. Wilson Complex.
The Cowgirls will go into Conference with an overall record 2-2. The Cowgirls started off strong getting two back to back wins against University of Texas- Permian Basin and Oklahoma Panhandle State University in the Heartland vs. Rocky Mountain Tournament which was held in Goodwell, Oklahoma. The Cowgirls then traveled to Canyon, Texas to play nationally ranked #5 West Texas A&M University. The Cowgirls battled hard on the Aggies home floor but didn't up getting their first loss of the season. The Cowgirl then had a home opener against Eastern New Mexico University and the Greyhounds took the win home with them.

Western New Mexico will go into the game with an overall record of 2-3. The Mustangs grabbed their first win against Oklahoma Panhandle State University in the Heartland vs Rocky Mountain Tournament but left with a close loss against University of Texas- Permian Basin. For their home opener they defeated University of the Southwest. The Mustangs traveled to San Angelo, Texas to play Angelo State University, but ended up taking a losing to the Belles. This past Monday the Lady Mustangs faced off with Eastern New Mexico on their home floor but the Greyhounds came out on top 63-41.
