Box Score LAS VEGAS, N.M.- Homecoming game did not go the way the Cowboy fans were hoping. The Cowboys lost their fourth straight and second conference game, losing to Fort Lewis 49-7.

Turnovers were a big issue for the Cowboys. They had one interception and two fumbles, letting the Skyhawks gain good field position and score two touchdowns off those three mistakes.

The Cowboys showed promise at the beginning with a good first drive that included a 20- yard pass from
Keith Moore to
Austin Jones. This pass would be Moore's longest pass of the game as he threw for 124 yards.

Close to end of the first quarter, the Skyhawks intercepted the ball and two plays later, scored on a run from running back PJ Hall ending the quarter 7-0 Skyhawks.

Second quarter started the same way, with a fumble recovery touchdown by the Skyhawks to give them a 14-0 lead.

After another touchdown by Fort Lewis, the Cowboys managed to get some rhythm and drive down the field, resulting in a 11 yard TD pass from Moore to
Vincent Venegas. Although the Cowboys cut the deficit by seven, the boys were never able to score the rest of the game.

From the end of the second quarter and into the second half, the Skyhawks dominated the Cowboys with their rushing and defensive game and never let up scoring four more touchdowns.

Fort Lewis' rushing game proved to be too strong as they rushed for 239 yards while the Cowboys managed 278 total yards on offense.

The Cowboys and
Jeff Mills seek their first win next Saturday in Golden, Colorado when they face Colorado School of Mines. Kickoff is scheduled at noon.
