LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands softball team opens RMAC play at home this weekend against Black Hills State with doubleheaders starting at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

NMHUÂ is coming off going 0-4 at the Angelo State Invitational, losing twice to No. 9 Angelo State (10-0, 4-0) and twice to Texas A&M International (3-2, 8-0).
Arianna Ramirez leads the team in hitting in the young season, batting .421 with two RBI and three runs.
Heaven Medina is batting .400 with three RBI,
Camrynn Ziegler is hitting .320 with a home run, five RBI, two doubles, five runs and four stolen bases and
Samantha Gamboa is hitting .318 with two RBI.
Nathalie Blattmann has continued to be stellar in the circle for the Cowgirls as she's 2-0 with a 1.68 ERA with team's hitting .250 against her. She has eight strikeouts in 16.2 innings pitched.
BLACK HILLS STATE HEADING INTO THE SEASON | 2021 STATISTICS
The Yellow Jackets will be playing their first games of the season and are coming off of going 3-34-1 last season, going 2-2 against the Cowgirls.
BHSU returns its most dangerous hitter in Bell Luebken. In her freshman campaign, she hit .427 with a 1.191 OPS, eight home runs, nine doubles, 20 RBI and 29 runs.
BHSU also returns its top two pitchers in Crystal Amaral (5.01 ERA, 114.2 IP, 85 SO) and Shayla Tuschen (5.29 ERA, 45 IP, 11 SO).
