LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands softball team concludes a 10-game stretch on the road this weekend as the Cowgirls travel to take on Chadron State in a four-game series with a doubleheader Saturday at noon and a doubleheader Sunday at 11 a.m.
COWGIRLS HEADING INTO THE SERIES | 2022 STATISTICS
NMHU snapped its losing streak in the final game of its series Sunday with MSU Denver, beating the Roadrunners 9-6 behind home runs from Savannah Chavez, 
Arianna Ramirez and 
Megan Gutierrez.
Heaven Medina continues to lead the team in average (.361), OPS (1.073), home runs (3), RBI (15) and runs (14). 
Arianna Ramirez is hitting .348 with a pair of homers, 10 doubles, 13 RBI and 11 runs, 
Samantha Gamboa is hitting .317 with two homers and seven RBI while 
Camrynn Ziegler is hitting .307 with a homer, eight doubles, two triples, nine RBI, 13 runs and a team-high seven stolen bases.
Nathalie Blattmann continues to lead the team in the circle as she owns a 4.85 ERA with 46 strikeouts in 62 innings. Ramirez has a 7.99 ERA with 28 strikeouts in 51.2 innings.
CHADRON STATE HEADING INTO THE SERIES | 2022 STATISTICS
The Eagles have dropped five games in a row heading into the weekend after being swept by Regis on the road last weekend - including scoring one or zero runs in three of the four games.
Jessie Henchenski leads the team in hitting with a .316 average with three homers and eight RBI. Aliyah Rothstein is hitting .301 while Addison Spears has a team-high 14 RBI while Sloane Quijas has 13 RBI.
No pitcher for Chadron State owns an ERA under 6.00 with Kenzi Garner leading the way with a 6.17 ERA in 42.1 innings while Gabby Russell has a 6.19 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 56.2 innings. Tia Kohl with a 9.19 ERA leads the team in innings (63.2) and strikeouts (56).
