COWGIRLS HEADING INTO THE SERIES | 2022 STATISTICS
NMHUÂ dropped all four games on the road last weekend at UCCS - 2-1, 6-5, 8-4 and 7-4.
Arianna Ramirez leads the team in hitting (.303), RBI (23) and doubles (13) to go along with three homers and 13 runs.
Heaven Medina has a team-best six homers to go along with 21 RBI, 21 runs and a .298 average. Ziegler is hitting .295 on the season with a homer, nine doubles, two triples, 14 RBI, 21 runs and 12 stolen bases.
Nathalie Blattmann, who last week was named to the RMAC All-Academic First Team, leads the Cowgirls in the circle with a 4.94 ERA with 89 strikeouts in 120.1 innings. Ramirez is next on the team with a 7.39 ERA with 43 strikeouts in 95.2 innings.
COLORADO CHRISTIAN HEADINGÂ INTO THE SERIESÂ | 2022Â STATISTICS
In a battle of the top two teams in the RMAC, the Cougars split a four-game series with Colorado Mesa - winning the first two games 11-3 and 6-2 before dropping the last two games 3-1 and 11-0.
CCU enters the series 12th in the country and first in the conference in runs per game at 7.24 thanks to leading the nation in slugging percentage (0.656) and second in home runs with 81 (trailing RMAC-foe CMU by four).
Sami Edwards is arguably the most dangerous hitting in the RMAC this season with a .482 average, 1.449 OPS, 11 homers, 20 doubles, 10 triples (leads NCAA), 43 RBI and 51 runs. She is one of seven players on the roster with an OPS of 1.000 or better and one of four players with an average of .400 or better and have 10 or more homers.
Two pitchers have the majority of the innings for CCU this season in Alexis Hamilton (2.21 ERA, 120 strikeouts, 134.1 innings) and Abrie Castillo (3.27 ERA, 99 strikeouts, 124 innings).
