LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands softball team looks to bounce back after being swept at home by first-place Colorado Mesa as the Cowgirls host Fort Lewis in a four-game series starting with a doubleheader noon Saturday at NMHU Softball Field.
COWGIRLS HEADING INTO THE SERIES | 2022 STATISTICS
NMHUÂ ran into one of the top teams in the region, if not the country, last weekend as the Cowgirls were swept by Colorado Mesa in a four-game series, 10-0, 8-0, 12-0 and 5-0.
Arianna Ramirez now leads the team in hitting at .322 with two homers, a team-best 19 RBI and NMHU-high 11 doubles.
Samantha Gamboa is hitting .310 with two homers, nine RBI and 11 runs,
Camrynn Ziegler is hitting .306 with a homer, nine doubles, two triples, 13 RBI and a team-best 17 runs and 10 stolen bases while
Heaven Medina is hitting .300 with a team-high three homers, 15 RBI and 15 runs.
Nathalie Blattman leads the team in the circle with a 5.21 ERA with 61 strikeouts in 82 innings while Ramirez has steadily improved her ERA to 7.30 with 35 strikeouts in 70 innings.

The Skyhawks are coming off splitting a four-game series at home to UCCS, winning the first two 3-1 and 4-0 before dropping the second two games 9-0 and 8-7.
Jadyn Gilley leads FLC in hitting at .392 (12th in the RMAC) with 12 RBI, three triples, two doubles and nine runs while Cat Rodman is hitting .321 with two homers, 12 RBI and 15 runs.
Three pitchers have thrown every inning for the Skyhawks this season in Amiee Shanks (7.70 ERA, 30 SO, 73.2 IP), Hailie Mann (8.46 ERA, 33 SO, 83 IP) and Rodman (13.50 ERA, 16 SO, 37.1 IP).
