Four Cowboys Recognized By RMAC

Colorado Springs, Colorado - The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced the 2024 All-Conference football teams this morning and freshman Tevita Valeti was named 1st Team running back and Freshman Offensive Player of the Year. Wide receiver Teneil Nichols earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors while Joey Cave and Mike Jones were Honorable Mention selections.

The All-RMAC Football Teams are nominated by their head coaches and selected by the league's 15 head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes.

"I am very happy for these guys," said Head Coach Kurt Taufa'asau. "The coaching staff came in very late but they went to work with us and accomplished great things. This recognition is well deserved."

Valeti amassed 880 rushing yards and scored eight touchdowns for the Cowboys this season. He went for 200 yards and four scores in the Cowboys 44-27 win over Adams State. For his efforts he was voted the RMAC Player of the Week on October 28th. His 880 rushing yards this season are the most by a Cowboys since Dione Alston's 1,125 in 2018.

Teniel Nichols started in all 11 games at wide receiver this season and led the Cowboys with 47 catches, 812 receiving yards and six touchdown receptions. He had two touchdown catches in the final six minutes to help secure the Cowboys 33-30 win over Chadron State on Homecoming Saturday.
