Durango, Colorado - The Cowgirls dropped a pair of games to Fort Lewis on Saturday afternoon, dropping the opening game 4-1 and the day's second contest 3-1.
The first game of the day saw Fort Lewis jump out to a 4-0 lead after three innings. The Cowgirls scored their lone run of the game on a two out single off the bat of
Arianna Ramirez that scored
Jazmyn Griego.
With Fort Lewis holding a 3-0 lead as the Cowgirls came to bat in the seventh inning, NMHU got its first two batters on base as
Jaclyn Morales singled to leadoff the inning and
Arianna Ramirez followed with a double that advanced Morales to third. Three batters later
Jazmyn Griego singles home Morales to make the score 3-1. That would be all the offense for the Cowgirls in the game as they left two runners stranded to end the game.
The Cowgirls are now 13-28 overall and 9-27 in the RMAC.
NMHU and Fort Lewis play a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 11:00 am.
